Kayaking around RÃo San Juan is a special treat, as the pristine waterways and creeks are seldom used. This allows for leisurely paddling through the amazing rain forest, taking in all the beauty of this virtually untouched region. Only five minutes from our lodges, you will begin a leisurely ride in a kayak or canoe down the scenic Rio San Juan. As you personally paddle or float down the river, our bilingual guide will alert you to a wide variety of trees, birds, monkeys and other wildlife. This eco tour, without the noise of a motor boat, is a perfect way to relax and enjoy the wonders of nature.
Bird watching
Costa Rica and Nicaragua are world famous for their biodiversity, home to more than 750-recorded species of birds more species than Canada and United States. It is considered a Birding Paradise due to the great variety of species and families in a relatively small area. "Our lodges" rests on banks of the San Juan River surrounded by 6,400,00 acres of Rain Forest at the Rio Indio Maiz National Park, which makes it the largest rain forest north of the Amazon Jungle. Our packages can suit your needs to find that special bird, still yet to see or just marble of the great variety of colors and species. From the low lands of the Nicaraguan Jungle. Hiking
In addition you will spend three hours hiking within the Indio MaÃz Nature Reserve with a specialized personal guide. Within this enormous tropical reserve, you will learn the history and get to see an array rare animal species and wildlife. Of the species thriving in this reserve, you may have the opportunity to see tropical toads, frogs, birds, monkeys, caiman, foxes, snakes, sloth and traces of a jaguar. After the hike you will visit El Castillo. This tour takes the whole day. One hour and 45 minutes hike. The hike is medium difficulty with nearly three hours in boat. And you can enjoy your ride by kayak or in our comfort boat!
